Sex & Trauma Therapy in Dallas, Texas

Helping you reflect, heal, and reconnect across Texas & Washington through telehealth sessions.

Through reflective, trauma-informed therapy, I’ll help you reconnect with your body and rediscover safety and trust, so you can feel more grounded, confident, and at ease in your own skin.

When Closeness Feels Out of Reach

Are you struggling to feel connected to your partner? Maybe sex feels like something you “should” want, but don’t. Do you have difficulty identifying and communicating your needs? Have you experienced shame that makes it hard to feel present? Maybe you long for closeness, but your body tenses up when it’s offered.

I am here to provide a space to slow down and listen to what’s really happening beneath the surface. Together, we’ll explore the stories you’ve learned about sex and desire, how your body holds those messages, and what it needs to feel safe again. Healing doesn’t mean forcing pleasure, it means creating the safety for it to return naturally.

Meet Cheyenne McGuire, LMFT, CST

Sex & Trauma Therapist in Dallas, TX

Virtual Therapy available throughout Texas & Washington

Hey, hey! I’m Cheyenne! I help individuals heal from the impact of trauma, including sexual and religious trauma, so they can feel safer in their bodies, trust themselves again, and reconnect with pleasure, desire, and authentic connection.

I help couples rebuild intimacy and communication after distance, conflict, or past pain. Together, we slow down, listen beneath the surface, and uncover what each partner needs to feel seen, desired, and safe. My goal is to help you move from feeling disconnected to feeling emotionally and physically attuned again.

I believe healing isn’t just about reducing pain, it’s about expanding what’s possible. Together, we explore what safety, pleasure, and desire can mean for you, whether that’s rebuilding intimacy with a partner, rediscovering connection with your body, or learning to live with more ease and authenticity.

You do not have to have it all figured out yet, you just have to come as you are!

  • Fees are structured at $180 per 50-minute session for all therapy types. Extended 90-minute sessions are $270. I offer a limited number of sliding scale appointments as a commitment to making therapy accessible to all who need it regardless of financial situation. • I am an Out-of-Network(non-paneled) provider for insurance companies. I do accept HSA cards and can provide a superbill. This means you would first need to pay with either a credit card or your HSA account. Once payment is received, I can send you a PDF superbill that you then submit to your insurance company. Whether your insurance company is willing to reimburse you for services depends on your policy and type of service you receive. Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions!

  • Sex therapy is a specialized form of psychotherapy that helps individuals and couples explore, understand, and improve their sexual lives. It focuses on the emotional, psychological, and relational aspects of sexuality, rather than just the physical.

Here’s a breakdown of what that means:

    • Addresses sexual concerns: These can include low desire, difficulty with arousal or orgasm, pain during sex, erectile difficulties, vaginismus, differences in libido between partners, or lack of pleasure.

    • Explores emotional and relational dynamics: Sex therapy often looks at how stress, anxiety, shame, trauma, communication issues, or relationship dynamics impact intimacy and sexual connection.

    • Creates safety around sexual topics: Many people carry shame or discomfort from cultural, religious, or personal experiences. A sex therapist provides a safe, nonjudgmental space to talk openly about these topics.

    • Rebuilds trust and connection: For relationships, sex therapy can strengthen emotional intimacy, improve communication about needs and boundaries, and help rebuild a fulfilling sexual relationship.

    • Can integrate trauma work: For those healing from sexual trauma, purity-culture messaging, or body-related shame, sex therapy may include trauma-informed approaches (like EMDR, somatic awareness, or nervous system regulation).

A key thing to know: sex therapy is talk-based. It doesn’t involve any physical sexual activity in the session. The work happens through conversation, reflection, and exercises done individually or as a couple outside the therapy room.

  • Sessions are 50 minutes and recur on a weekly or bi-weekly cadence. Extended 90-minute session are available upon request.

Marathon session of EMDR or relationship intensives can vary in length and will be agreed upon collaboratively. Marathon Therapy (price is dependent on length of session) provides a unique opportunity for clients to make significant progress in a shorter period of time. This approach allows you to immerse yourself fully in the therapeutic process, facilitating breakthroughs that may take months or years in traditional therapy.

  • Sessions are conducted through a confidential virtual platform for your convenience. This also allows flexibility in scheduling.  Due to state laws, I can only see clients that are physically in Texas or Washington State.

  • In our consultation call, I will learn a little bit more about you and your goals as well as share a bit about myself and how I conduct therapy. This is a great opportunity to get a sense of whether my style will work for you.

  • In our first session, we’ll simply start by getting to know one another. I’ll invite you to share what’s bringing you in, what feels most important right now, and what you hope to gain from therapy. This is your space, there’s no need to have all the answers or open up before you’re ready.

  • How long therapy lasts really depends on you, your goals, your pace, and what you’re hoping to work through. Some people come to therapy for a few months to focus on a specific concern, while others stay longer to explore deeper patterns, trauma, or shifts in relationships and sexuality. We’ll check in regularly about your progress and what feels right for you. There’s no set timeline; healing takes the time it needs, and we’ll move at your pace.
